Adenike Adeoti, Treasurer

I was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. I learned from young age how to participate and collaborate with others in the community, and not to focus on myself. So, I jumped on every opportunity that presented itself just so I could help others in my community. Showing great aptitude for numbers and excelling in sciences in secondary school, I have easily gained admission to attend the Obafemi Awolowo University (Formerly Unife) in Nigeria, where I studied Chemical Engineering and graduated withBachelor of Science (Honors) in Engineering. In pursuit of higher degree in Engineering, I moved to Canada in 2002. I did my graduate studies at the University of Saskatchewanin Saskatoon.

Upon completing my studies at UoS, I began my career working for the Government of Saskatchewan (Now, TSASK). Engineers love data quantified in numbers. The profession demands accountability and ethical behavior of practitioners. Engineers must collaborate with others on projects whilst making public’s interest top most priority. All these are values that define who I am, which also resonate with my every effort in community building as a volunteer. For years since I moved to Regina, I have immersed myself in the community volunteering in different ways. I am active in the Nigerian and Yoruba associations in Regina. I once served on a jury. When I am not working in the community, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. For me, people are everything. So, I continue to do my best in elevating everyone I meet and around me. ACRN is yet another platform where I give back selflessly in service to the community.
