Government of Saskatchewan Extends Public Health Orders to February 28

Saskatchewan's current public health orders will be extended to February 28, 2022. Under the current public health orders, masking is mandatory in all indoor public spaces including schools; mandatory self-isolation is required for all cases and non or partially vaccinated close contacts who are symptom-free; and proof of vaccination or negative test requirements are in place for public access to a list of establishments, businesses and event venues. The current public health orders are available at saskatchewan.ca/covid-19.

Saskatchewan Health Authority Omicron Surge Plan

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has updated its COVID-19 surge plan based on the expected increase in demand and increase in staff absenteeism due to the Omicron variant. This plan includes five key strategies which will help ensure Saskatchewan patients continue to receive the best care possible:

Recent events have further demonstrated that systemic racism in the criminal justice system has resulted in the overincarceration of Indigenous peoples, Black Canadians and members of marginalized communities. The Government of Canada is committed to addressing this issue.

Federal funding provided to Regina-based organization to help support families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls

Violence against Indigenous women, girls, Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (2SLGBTQQIA+) people in Canada is an ongoing national tragedy that needs to end. Supporting the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG) and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people on their healing journey is a priority for the Government of Canada.

First inter-provincial conference “Advancing Human Rights Values - Equal Dignity and Opportunities”

We are delighted to welcome all of you to our first inter-provincial conference “Advancing Human Rights Values - Equal Dignity and Opportunities”. The conference is organized by the African Canadian Resource Network (ACRN) with support from sponsors and partners. The conference theme is: Exploring and addressing the human, social and economic cost of the intersectionality of oppression based on perceived “race”, gender and religious differences.
