First inter-provincial conference “Advancing Human Rights Values - Equal Dignity and Opportunities”

We are delighted to welcome all of you to our first inter-provincial conference “Advancing Human Rights Values - Equal Dignity and Opportunities”. The conference is organized by the African Canadian Resource Network (ACRN) with support from sponsors and partners. The conference theme is: Exploring and addressing the human, social and economic cost of the intersectionality of oppression based on perceived “race”, gender and religious differences.

Rooting out systemic racism is key to a fair and effective justice system

Canada’s justice system must keep all Canadians, their families, and communities safe while promoting fairness. Recent events have further demonstrated that systemic racism in the criminal justice system has resulted in the overincarceration of Indigenous peoples, Black Canadians and members of marginalized communities. The Government of Canada is committed to addressing this issue.
